#MedicineMakingMonday: Herbal Hair Rinses for Crown Blessings 🌱✨
Welcome back to this week’s #MedicineMakingMonday, where we celebrate the magic of herbs and the sacred act of holistic self-care and spiritual herbalism. Today, we’re diving into one of my most cherished rituals to elevate your wash day routine: herbal hair rinses, known also as a Crown Blessings. These are not just for your hair—they’re for your spirit, too. Your spiritual head resides in your physical head.
Why Use a Hair Rinse?
Teas aren’t just for sipping—they’re also perfect for steeping, drinking, and yes, rinsing! There's something incredibly soothing about using an herbal rinse during your wash day. It’s like giving your scalp and strands a loving blessing. 🌿 Whether you’re washing away the stress of the week or cleansing your mind and head, a good herbal rinse is an essential part of a holistic self-care routine. We absorb so much between washes. This is also a form of spiritual bath.
A Crown Blessing for Your Hair & Spirit
Think of your hair rinse as a two-fold cleanse. Not only is it nurturing your follicular health, but it also serves as a spiritual cleanse—a "crown blessing" for your head. 🧖🏾♀️✨ Just as you wash your body, washing your hair with intention can be a powerful practice to realign and ground yourself. It's about honoring your body and your mind, removing energetic influences and attachments that do not belong to you or no longer serve you. A Crown Blessing is a great tool in ceremonial ritual, clear up brain fog, improve mood, calm and sooth overthinking, release grief, and more.
Choose Your Herbs
When it comes to choosing herbs for your hair rinse, the possibilities are endless, but there are a few standouts that are particularly amazing for the health of your scalp and strands. Try these healing herbs to get started:
- Lemongrass: Known for its antimicrobial properties, it keeps your scalp fresh and clean. Lemongrass is prosperous and protective, as well as calming.
- Calendula: Calms and soothes irritated skin while nourishing the hair. Calendula uplifts the solar plexus chakra, reminds you who you are, and how you mirror the Sun.
- Rose: Balances and hydrates, promoting both scalp health and shine. A regal plant ally of glamour magic. Attracts and restores love.
- Nettles: A powerhouse for hair growth, rich in vitamins and minerals. Nettles reminds us to prioritize yourself and your nourishment.
- Rosemary: Stimulates circulation to the scalp and encourages healthy hair growth. Rosemary offers protection, sweetening, enhances memory.
These herbs are some of the herbs included in my formula for the brand new Embodied Divinity Hair Teas. Click the link to order yours.
You are free to find your own flow in how you practice your Crown Blessings. I shampoo first, clarifying then hydrating, and bless my hair tea and pour over my scalp and strands as my final step. Cleansing first is highly recommended.
Prayers to take with you:
Protection, peace, and prosperity are my portion, thanks to The Most High and The Ancestors.
My head is clear, my steps are ordered, I am in highest alignment.
Ase.
Happy Medicine Making ✨
